One graphene atomic layer on white quartz. 1cm x 2cm.
Description: Bidimensional fiction that could has already happened.
Graphene is a work about bidimensionality and the possibility to reduce as much as possible the drawing into two dimentions. The graphene push this possibility to the limits of materiality breaking the drawing into single semi-trasparent atom surface. Graphene is an allotrope of carbon consisting of a single layer of atoms arranged in a two-dimensional honeycomb lattice nanostructure. The name is derived from “graphite”. Each atom in a graphene sheet is connected to its three nearest neighbors. Single-layer graphene has emerged as a highly capable material that has the ability to replace outdated technologies and benefit countless industries. Incredibly lightweight yet highly durable, graphene is able to conduct a high level of electricity through a minuscule amount of material.
